East & West: Spirit & Word

 The Spirit:
It is through the quieting the mind, an ancient practice of the east, that the 7th chakra is opened, connecting us with our divine spiritual energy, while the energy that flows through the 6 chakras of the body can be opened through a series of exercises or facilitated through a skilled practitioner of eastern techniques.

Reiki (From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia).

Reiki is performed through a technique similar to the "laying on of hands." Reiki is a spiritual healing technique proposed for the treatment of physical, emotional, spiritual or mental disease. It has no scientific basis. Reiki was developed during the early 20th century by Mikao Usui in Japan. Practitioners use a technique similar to the laying on of hands in which they claim that they act as channels for Reiki energy — which they say flows through their palms to specific parts of the body in order to facilitate healing. Most of the explanations of the technical aspects of Reiki rely upon the existence of "subtle energies" and "auras."... The name Reiki comes from the Japanese pronunciation of two Chinese characters that are said to describe the energy itself: ' rei' (meaning 'soul', 'spirit' or 'ghost') and ki (meaning 'life force energy' in this context). Common translations of the term reiki are "aura" and also "soul energy..." While Reiki is comparatively rare in Japan today, it flourishes in the West and has gained a small following worldwide. Many scientists, health care workers and others dispute the effectiveness of Reiki, because studies have shown that it does not facilitate healing beyond that expected from the placebo effect. However, other double blind studies have shown statistically significant positive results ...

The spirit or energy, activated or manipulated through the ancient practices of the east, while evoking a mind-body response that can bring healing to the mind and body, cannot complete the healing of the soul.

This is achieved through the application of God's word; through an ancient instruction encoded in the biblical text some 3500 years ago. It is through the application of the word that we perfect the spirit.

The Word:
It is through the word of God; through the application of the ancient instruction contained in the ancient sacred text of the west that we receive the "light" needed to complete our transformation process... a process (that while incorporating the mind-body disciplines of the east) deviates with respect to the method of meditation, evoking a more powerful heart-mind-body response, allowing for a complete transformation.

When we combine the works of the spirit with the works of the word we regenerate the divine spiritual power that heals the soul, freeing the heart, mind, and body of their negative and destructive energy, healing ourselves of our mental, emotional, and physical diseases. This is the salvation of the soul, which comes through "christ," the culmination of God's spirit and God's word.
