EAST & WEST : SPIRIT & WORD

Like Egypt, The East is associated with The Spirit. The spirit works on two levels, mind-body and heart. The spirit works through mind-body disciplines to bring calmness to the mind and wellness to the body, yoga being a perfect example. During the practice one is encourged to "trust the breath," the breath symbolizing spirit. When the children of Israel journeyed through the wilderness they were to trust Moses, who symbolizes The Spirit of God, but instead they resisted him, forfeiting what comes with allowing the spirit to work at the level of the mind, which is tranquility of the mind.

"Ye stiffnecked and uncirmcised in heart and ears, ye do aways resist the Holy Spirit: as your fathers did, so do ye." Acts 7:51

In the eastern practice of yoga one is often led to put his hands to "the third eye," the hands symbolizing power, the third eye (inner eye) referring in part to the ajna (brow) chakra, the brow being the ridge over the eyes, associating it with higher consiousness or spiritual sight.

"Behold he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him..." Revelation 1:7

The he is Jesus, symbolizing Truth, the clouds symbolizing thoughts. Truth comes with thoughts, spiritual truth seen by those whose third "eye" has brought them spiritual sight. The children of Israel, who represent all of mankind, lacked spiritual sight by resisting the power that would have brought them into a higher consciousness.

Another example of the spirit working through the mind is the eastern practice called "Reike."

Reiki is performed through a technique similar to the "laying on of hands." Reiki is a spiritual healing technique proposed for the treatment of physical, emotional, spiritual or mental disease... Practitioners use a technique similar to the laying on of hands in which they claim that they act as channels for Reiki energy — which they say flows through their palms to specific parts of the body in order to facilitate healing... The name Reiki comes from the Japanese pronunciation of two Chinese characters that are said to describe the energy itself: ' rei' (meaning 'soul', 'spirit' or 'ghost') and ki (meaning 'life force energy' in this context). Common translations of the term reiki are "aura" and also "soul energy..." Many scientists, health care workers and others dispute the effectiveness of Reiki, because studies have shown that it does not facilitate healing beyond that expected from the placebo effect. However, other double blind studies have shown statistically significant positive results. (Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia).

It is through the practice of meditation, the discipline of quieting the mind (another eastern practice) that the 7th chakra is opened.

And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour." Revelation 8:1

The seventh seal is the same as the seventh chakra, opened through silence in heaven, which is quiet in the mind. This connects us with our divine spiritual energy, which if not resisted has the power to heal both mind and body. The 6 chakras of the body can be opened through a series of exercises (a body discipline) or facilitated through a skilled practitioner of Reiki.

THE SPIRIT, activated or manipulated through the ancient practices of the east, while evoking a mind-body response that can heal the mind and body, cannot in and of itself, heal the heart, (which is the deepest, and most important, aspect of the soul). That will require THE WORD, which are the deeper spiritual works found in the ancient Sacred Text of the west, the Holy Bible, which have been brilliantly encoded using a symbolic code.

THE SPIRIT, in conjunction with THE WORD will heal us on all three levels: mind, heart, and body, which is the healing of the soul.

MOSES, in conjunction with AARON, led the children of Israel out of the bondage of Egypt, symbolizing the addiction of The World.

SPIRIT and WORD, the healing energy attributed to CHRIST.
